Job Shadow Cont.
I got a hold of Mrs. Sanders and she told me that I needed to wear dress clothes and to be there by 8. She also said I could either bring a sack lunch or eat in the cafeteria. The only thing I am not looking forward to is missing my job and going to the meetings.

Week 9
This week I bought another 50 shares in Disney. And I also bought 300 shares in Bank of America. The reason I bought more in Disney is because ever since I bought them early in the year they have not gone down once, i am predicting that this will keep happening. They are a low key company but they have a lot of things going for them. They have tons of movies, and plus the two huge parks. I bought Bank of America at $5.39 a share. Right now they are already up 50 cents from where I purchased them at. Their sector is financial. Their competetors are Citigroup, Inc. JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Wells Fargo & Company. As far as a prediction I am hoping that they keep going up.
Job Shadow
Next week I am shadowing Mrs. Sanders at Southside Elementry. She is a Kindergarten teacher. I am waiting to hear from her and ask her the questions.

60 Minutes
1. What is your opinion? And why? My opinion is that all of this is dumb. I dont understand why they should get to do something that is illegal to the public. They are people just like us and should not get special treatment just because of who they are.
2. What can you do about your opinion? And how can you make it count? As a teenager I can do nothing more than voice my opinion to others. It will only count to my peers and parents no one else.
3. What is insider trading? What was the information that caused Martha Stewart to go to prison? Insider trading is the trading of stocks using information that is not availible to the generally public. She was sentenced to five months in prison for insider trading. Her stock broker gave her some insider information about a company that she had more than 4,000 shares in. She sold mostly all of them to avoid losing alot of money.
4. What is Black Friday and when did it get its name? What is Cyber Monday? The day's name originated in Philidelphia, where it originally was used to describe the heavy and disruptive pedestrian and vehicle traffic which would occur on the day after Thanksgiving. Use of the term started before 1966. Cyber Monday is just like black friday but all of the sales are online instead of being in the stores.

Week 8
This week I bought two new stocks. They are Polaris Industries and Arctic Cat inc. I bought Polaris at 60 dollars a share and Arctic Cat at 20 dollars a share. I bought these two stocks because of the upcoming snowmobiling season. These companies are both major producers of snowmobiles and snowmobile parts. The competetors of Arctic Cat are Polaris, Honda, and Yamaha which is privatly heald. The competors of Polaris are Arctic Cat, Honda, and Yamaha. They both fit in the same sector recreational vehicles. I bought these both as trades I plan on selling them at the end of the winter.

Game Standards
3.2 Students formulate solutions to economic problems: In the game you have to buy more buisnesses to generate more money. For your city you have to build windmills so that there is enough energy to power the buildings. You also have to build buildings that your people need.
3.1 Students explain how different systems are organized for production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services: The game has a system for increasing levels in the game. For example you have to have certain buildings and services availible before you can buy higher up buildings. Once you have certain buildings and people more items are available to you.
3.4 Students demonstrate an understanding of economic principles that influence individual financial planning: The game has money called counrty cents. You only get them for certain things and they are very valuable. You have to be careful when you are spending them because they are hard to get a hold of.
4.3: Students evaluate the impact of technology and how it has shaped history and influenced the modern world: There are taxis that run around and give people transportation. In the cities a long time ago they would have to walk to work. But now they have taxis, that has changed history in a way.
4.2: Students analyze current events to better understand the world in which they live: Right now in my city I am trying to build a post office. I am only waiting on one item which is tape. So at the moment that is the biggest current event that is happening in my city.

Candy Stock
When I walked in it was dark and I saw a bunch of candy everywhere. There were videos playing on the screen which kind of gave us the feel as to what it is like for real.
When he said go I just layed down and grabbed all the candy I could. Then I sat down and started seperating what I had gotten. I didnt really understand what i needed to trade so i looked at my candy and thought to myself what candy i liked and traded it that one way. I think I only made one trade.
I basically just sat in my chair and listened to the videos. At the end when we counted all of our candy i realized that my stratagy probably wasnt the best! I made hardley and money. If I had it to do over i would definatly change the way i worked with things.

Occupy Wall Street
In my opinion people are not entitled to money from the government. I am totally against this movement. The people that are protesting and are for the movement come across to me as lazy. They say that can’t get a job… it’s not hard to go get the want ads in the paper and look for work. Almost every town in America has a McDonalds or a gas station of some sort, if not a surrounding town does. People just need to get out there and do some looking around for jobs, instead of sitting at home feeling sorry for themselves. There is nothing wrong with working for your money. Some of the people that are for it and are complaining have no try at all.

Week 4 Investment
This week I bought 55 shares of John Deere. I payed $70.79 for them. This company is included in many sectors which seems like it may be a bad thing. However this is a good thing. If one particular sector is doing poorly it has another one to fall back on and wont lose to much money. I bought this because it is harvest season and farmers are going to have to get their tractors fixed. I think this will make the stock grow.

Week 3 Comparison
This week I bought 50 shares in Walt Disney for $29 a share. The reason I did this was because Walt Disney is constantly making new movies and toys. They also have two ammusment parks in the country Disney Land and Disney World. These places make lots of money in a day. I bought Disney over another ammusment park company six flags because Disney had the best record.

Week 2 comparisions
This week a bought Apple over Amazon. The reason I thought this would be a good idea is because Apple is coming out with the next generation Iphone and are going to continue to come out with new things. Amazon just came out with their new Kindle that was created to directly give Apple competition with their Ipads. I still think Apple will be a better investment for me.

Did we or are we winning the war in Iraq??
The war in Iraq... many peeple have their beliefs about it. America is a free country so therefore in some peoples eyes we win everything. To answer the above question I personally think that we are slowly winning the war. Last year we finally found Bin Laden and killed him, to go along with the hanging of Sadam Hussein. They both were major leaders over there. Slowly but surely we are whittling away at them. All in all we are winning.
